Lawrence live in minneapolis

Soul-pop group, Lawrence turned the packed historic First Avenue main room into a funky and groovy experience on Friday night in Minneapolis.

In 2013, Lawrence was created by musically talented siblings, Clyde and Gracie Lawrence. It soon developed into an eight-piece band and hasn't slowed down since. Over the years, Lawrence has gained a well-deserved devoted following for its fun and groovy sound, exceptional vocals, and infectious energy. In 2021, the band released their third studio album, "Hotel TV" under the label of Jon Bellion, Beautiful Mind Records. Bellion co-produced and co-wrote songs on the album along with the band. It's a special album that has been widely streamed across all platforms, as it should.

While in Minneapolis, Lawrence performed a perfect mix of both new and old tracks including a few covers that the crowd went crazy for. The band opened the night with three tracks from their 2021 album and followed with a few tracks from their 2018 album, "Living Room," and their 2017 album, "Breakfast." In between, they added in a few fun covers including Nickelodeon's "Theme From Hey Arnold!," DJ Casper's "Cha Cha Slide," Sean Paul's "Get Busy," Annie's "Tomorrow," and NSYNC's "It's Gonna Be Me."

Overall, Lawrence knows how to put on an entertaining show that will leave you smiling from ear to ear just from the first song. With their powerful vocals, funky soulful sound, and feel-good catchy songwriting, you can't help but fall in love with this band.
