I don't know about you, but I sure got down to Lauv's "I Like Me Better" when it was released last May, and honestly, I was still jamming to it on my way to work this morning. To make my drives to work even better, Lauv just released a new single this past week, and it is fire (lol, no pun intended).
When you first listen to "Chasing Fire" by Lauv you will no doubt vibe to the overall beat of the song. That's always great and such, but once you really dive into the lyrics, you will realize just how special of a song this is. To be honest, after really listening to the words, it is a pretty personal, sad, and heartbreaking track which in my opinion makes it even more special and relatable. I think the contrast of the deep lyrics with the peppy tune is lovely.
I love the line, "I was driving you home in the middle of the night, but I couldn't bring myself to say goodbye" because it is so relatable. I've been there, and I'm sure you've been there. We all know what it feels like when you don't want to let go of someone or something even if you should.
Another line that caught my eye was, "It's like dancing when the song's already over." It really appealed to me, and I was able to picture the moment in my head. Another relatable feeling that pulled me further into the song.
Overall, "Chasing Fire" by Lauv is a great track ,and if you haven't given it a listen yet, you definitely should!
